For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but
to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, "I will destroy
the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will thwart." Where is the
wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish
the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God
through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who
believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a
stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and
Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser
than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For consider your call, brethren;
not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many
were of noble birth; but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God
chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong, God chose what is low and despised in
the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human
being might boast in the presence of God. He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus,
whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption; therefore,
as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord." (1 Corinthians
1:18-31) |

Eschatology
(Biblical Prophecy)
|
"The folly of Interpreters has been, to foretell times and things by this
Prophecy, as if God designed to make them Prophets. By this rashness they have not only
exposed themselves, but brought the Prophecy also into contempt. The design of God was
much otherwise. He gave this and the Prophecies of the Old Testament, not to gratify men's
curiosities by enabling them to foreknow things, but that after they were fulfilled they
might be interpreted by the event, and his own Providence, not the Interpreters, be then
manifested thereby to the world." (Sir Isaac Newton, Observations Upon the
Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of John, J. Darby & T. Browne, London
1733.) |

"Black Holes are where God divided by
zero."--Chuck Missler |
"The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and
earth, does not live in shrines made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he
needed anything, since he himself gives to all men life and breath and everything. And he
made from one [Adam] every nation of men to live on all the face of the earth, having
determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their habitation, that they should seek
God, in the hope that they might feel after him and find him.Yet he is
not far from each one of us, for `In him we live and move and have our being'; as even
some of your poets have said, `For we are indeed his offspring.' Being then God's
offspring, we ought not to think that the Deity is like gold, or silver, or stone, a
representation by the art and imagination of man.
The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all men everywhere to
repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a
man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all men by raising him
from the dead." (Acts 17:24-31) |

"The sayings of the wise are like goads, and like nails
firmly fixed are the collected sayings which are given by one Shepherd. My son, beware of
anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness
of the flesh. The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his
commandments; for this is the whole of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment,
with every secret thing, whether good or evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:11-13) |
